DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo West
Early pickup from your hotel at 5:00am from South Coast/Diani Beach. Drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway with a brief stop at a curio shop for coffee and refreshments. Proceed to Tsavo West, arriving at the gate and beginning your game drive en route to Kilaguni Serena Lodge. Check in at around 1:00pm for a buffet lunch.
Relax until 4:00pm then head out for an evening game drive visiting the famous Rhino Sanctuary — with a chance to spot the rare black rhinos. Return to Kilaguni Serena Lodge by 6:30pm for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Tsavo West – Amboseli
Early breakfast at 6:00am followed by a morning game drive en route to the famous Mzima Springs — where crystal clear underground volcanic water produces over one million litres per day, home to hippos and crocodiles.
Drive to Chyulu Gate checking out of Tsavo West, with a photo stop at the hauntingly beautiful Shetani Lava Fields. Proceed to Kimana Gate into Amboseli National Park (80km from Tsavo West). Arrive at Amboseli Serena Lodge in time for lunch and relaxation. Evening game drive until 6:30pm.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or lodge of your choice.
Day 3: Amboseli – Ziwani
Early morning game drive in Amboseli with the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to lodge for breakfast then depart to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive at Ziwani Tented Camp in time for lunch.
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon — sleep in your tent or take a guided nature walk around the camp. After dinner, head out for an exciting night game drive — a rare and thrilling experience. Return to camp for overnight.
Day 4: Ziwani – Taita Hills Salt Lick
Early morning game drive before returning to camp for breakfast. Depart to the exclusive Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Arrive for lunch at Taita Hills Lodge.
After lunch enjoy a game drive in the sanctuary until sunset — with excellent chances of spotting lions. Dinner and overnight at the iconic Salt Lick Lodge — a unique architectural marvel of rondavels on stilts over water holes, connected by open-air bridges. Watch animals from all directions as they come to drink through the night — an unforgettable African fantasy experience.
Day 5: Taita Hills – Tsavo East
Early morning game drive at 6:30am before breakfast at 8:30am. Depart to Tsavo East National Park — home to the famous red elephants. Enter the park for a game drive en route to Aruba Ashnil Safari Lodge.
Check in and enjoy lunch then head out again at 4:00pm for an afternoon game drive until 6:30pm. Dinner and overnight at Aruba Ashnil Safari Lodge.
Day 6: Tsavo East – Mombasa
Early breakfast at 6:30am followed by a final morning game drive until 10:00am — your last chance to spot the Big Cats of Tsavo. Check out of the park at 10:00-10:30am via Bachuma Gate. Drive back to Mombasa arriving in the evening.
